Mike Colangelo

Bio
Mike joined the Stars leadership in 2011. He brought MLB playing experience and a wealth of knowledge and players which has benefited the Stars greatly. Mike played college baseball at George Mason University where he set several records which still stand today. He made it all of the way to the big leagues with the Oakland A’s, Anaheim Angels and San Diego Padres. In Mike’s major league debut, he was severely injured in a head on collision with Reggie Williams in a game against Arizona. He was one of the best hitters ever to come out of the Northern Virginia / Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Coach Colangelo trains several hundred ballplayers at both Colangelo Baseball Academy and Rip City in Ashburn. He also volunteers his time with several local leagues and youth travel programs/teams to give back to his community and the game of baseball. Coach Colangelo is a premier hitting instructor and has trained dozens of high level players over the past decade.
